The International Conference on Field and Service Robotics  (FSR 2001) will be held at Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) in Otaniemi, Espoo, Finland on 11 - 13 June, 2001. The conference, the third in a series, was preceded by Canberra 1997 and Pittsburgh 1999. The theme of FSR 2001 is “Turning Field and Service Robotics  in Today’s Practice“. The conference will provide a forum at which manufacturers, users and researchers in the field can exchange their views and receive the very latest information on on-going research and development. The programme will include contributed and invited technical sessions. In addition a distinguished plenary speaker will review a specific topic of interest on each day. An exhibition will highlight technological advances in the field. 

Papers are invited from the following fields of application and robot technology:

  • Entertainment Industry

    • Perception sensors and systems
    • Navigation and mapping
    • Novel mechanisms
    • Human – robot interfaces
    • Task specification and control
The papers will be evaluated by the International Programme Committee on the basis of their technical quality and practical aspects. Papers demonstrating real applications will be preferred. The conference proceedings will be available in printed form for all conference participants and will also be published in CD form and on the Internet.

15 February    2001   Notification of acceptance and
                                     invitation for final paper
12 April           2001    Submission of camera-ready papers
