Martti Larinkari
Machine Vision Prize 2005 Winner

Vision Club of Finland awarded Martti Larinkari a Machine Vision Prize 2005 for his graduate thesis "Particle Size Distribution of Crushed Ore - Measurement and Management". He has continued his research work on machine vision based systems at Helsinki University of Technology Control Engineering Laboratory. The awarded work is conserned with a machine vision based particle size measurement system of crushed ore and it was done at TKK Control Engineering Laboratory in co-operation with Pyhäsalmi Mine Oy. The thesis is described more thoroughly in an article "Shadow Detection Based Estimator for Particle Distribution of Crushed Ore" in page nn of this journal.
