VISION on the road to success

The world’s leading trade fair VISION is the most important event for the machine vision industry.

Just like in the past, the 18th International Trade Fair for Machine Vision and Identification Technologies also set some new records last year. Over 5,000 visitors from around 46 countries were interested in the innovations and product improvements from the world’s most important machine vision suppliers. The proportion of foreign visitorsrose again and nowstands at 27%. The situation was similar as regards exhibitors; the proportion offoreign exhibitors actually increased to40%. A total of 196 exhibitors from all over the world came to Stuttgart and presented their machine vision componentsand systems. The exhibits included cameras, frame grabbers, optical and lightingsystems, processors, software tools, machine vision and identification systems, and services.

New potential customers with decision-making power

Every year, the clearly focused exhibitionprogramme of VISION attracts around60% new visitors from a wide range of industries. This is firstly due to machine vision conquering new industries and applications and secondly the growing need tofurther optimise conventional productionprocesses on account of greater competitive pressure.

Thanks to its economic importance andits seemingly inexhaustible rationalisationpotential, the key technology of machinevision has long been a matter for top management. This fact was proved conclusively by the high proportion of top decision-makers at VISION 2005, namely30%, which means that a total of 95% of all visitors at VISION are involved in purchasing and procurement decisions.

With the VISION Days, the annual VISIONAward and its international programme,VISION is one of the leading innovationsources in Europe’s most important high-tech region, i.e. Stuttgart.
