Modular machine vision system

Aimer Ltd has developed a modular machine vision system based on an invention which decreases the need for data processing dramatically.

Objects which are sought or followed emit or reflect different kind of light than their surroundings. If they do not they have been equipped with marks.

The signal from a camera goes through a real-time light analyzer. With a proper camera the analyzer can find different colours or different kind of polarization in the image. Different colours and their combinations can be changed easily with switches. Objects and their edges are marked electrically in the image.

When the signal manipulated by the analyzer is led to a monitor, interesting objects show brightly. In some applications the rest of the image can be darkened.

An object locator determines the location, rotation angle and size of the objects quickly and reliably. The object can be zoomed and represented on the monitor in the right attitude.

Information on the coordinates and angle of the objects can control the robot which handles the objects. The information can also control the code and mark recognition system.

AIMER MACHINE VISION SYSTEM

The AIMER machine vision system can be used for a variety of applications such as marking out objects in a TV and video display, handling goods and identifying objects.
