Vision Systems Oy has developed totally new innovative concept of line scan camera. 
VISI5000 TWINCAM is a two channel camera consisting of two optical measurement 
heads and one electronic unit. This concept reduce costs and makes measurement systems more compact. 

Advantages of the integration

This integration minimizes the data transfer, which often slows the measuring down.
Now video signals from the measurement heads are transferred differentially to the electronic unit. The electronic unit digitizes the signals, takes care about binary or gray 
scale image handling routines and calculated the results. Several VISI5000 TWINCAMs 
can be connected in one system. The electronic unit with processor can now be taken away 
from production line into a field cabin which makes the system more reliable and easier to maintain.

High resolution 

The new VISI5000 TWINCAM consists of two measurement heads with 5000 pixel CCD-
elements each. The measurement heads can be taken at least 55 m away from the electronic unit without any affects on the result of measurement. Now measuring of long 
or wide objects on production lines can be measured without any problems with one 
instrument. VISI5000 is also available with one measurement head only.

Rugged and protected for heavy duty

VISI5000 measurement heads can be taken to industrial environment due to their protection class of IP65. The windows of the measurement heads can be kept clean with pressurized air cleaning device. There is available a flexible installation stand which is adjustable. The field housing is classified to IP54.

Applications

VISI5000 application areas are edge position, centerline and/or width measurement of paper web, metal, steel (hot or cold), rubber and other strip production lines.
