New advanced sensors creates bridge between sensors and vision systems Full range of new advanced sensors of Omron ensures superior cost performance in vision inspection. The F-10 combines the advantages of measuring sensing technology, such as simple operation and small size, with the technical benefits of image processing, including the use of a CCD chip as a detector and advanced evaluation algorithms. The user does not have to deal directly with these algorithms, which operate in the background. The measurement configuration is obtained at the touch of a button via the teaching function when the object is situated in the camera’s object range. The system takes care of everything else.
F-10 is the first vision
inspection system in industry without the monitor. The measuring field
is projected onto the object with LED’s , allowing optimum alignment of
the camera head in a simple procedure. The measuring time are only 3.6
ms thus fast moving objects be recognised correctly. These short measuring
times at 256 x 492 pixels have been achieved using a technology specially
developed by OMRON. The F-10 sensors can be used to check the true-to-position
packaging of products (e.g. with manufacturer’s logo or “best before day
of” or label recognition or print control).
There are two modes for operator; Auto-Menu and Expert-menu. With Auto-Menu user can create vision inspection by teaching sensor with OK or NG pictures. Only three steps are required. First image registration. Then input OK or NG for each sample image registered so that measurement conditions will be set automatically. Finally start inspection. Everyone who can teach Photo Electric Switch can now create visual inspection application. Thus F150 is working as sensor. Expert menu is available
for multiple inspections and more complicated applications. Controller
has digital inputs and outputs. Triggering can be done with single sensor
and removing improper can be done without external devices Measuring size
of object, PCB positioning, surface inspections and components. Information
from inspected object can transfer via I/O or RS232-port. Sensor can tell
to robot what are coordinates of object
F400 has been developed for color applications. This sensor has same kind of color regonizition system than human eye. Normally color cameras are having RGB-based system so human and camera are seeing objects different ways. With HVS-camera and operator can see objects at same way.
