Bio: Harri Liukku is a leader in the Construction Industry segment at ABB Finland, where he is responsible for construction: “I have extensive experience in electrical designing, technical product management and sales in different roles. I am excited to work with different decision makers to create more sustainable places in which to work and live. I see a major potential and new revenue opportunities in digitalization, both in the workplace and in tenants’ homes. Furthermore, the increased information flow between different parties in the market will enable the establishment of new business models and operators in the electricity market”.

Summary of the talk: Smart energy distribution and demand response have played a significant role in the resilience and reliability of the power grid for decades. In the past 10 years, I have been involved in the Kalasatama Smart Grid area, developing and participating in construction projects. Smart Kalasatama, a brownfield district in Helsinki, is a vivid Smart City experimental innovation platform which co-creates a Smart & Clean urban infrastructure and services. Smart Kalasatama has been developed flexibly and through piloting, in close co-operation with 200 + stakeholders, including residents, companies, city officials, and researchers.
