Automation Days 2027 is the Finnish Automation Society’s most important seminar on automation and digitization. In 2027, special attention will be paid to artificial intelligence, and its impact on automation and humans.
However, presentations are widely sought in all areas of automation.

Keynote Presentations and Panel Discussion
In addition to the traditional presentations of the current and future professionals, there will be two keynote presentations:
Kari Angeria, CEO, Sinun Tekoäly Oy. Has together with Risto Linturin written the book Meanin of life and AI: Stories from the edge of humanity, ja kirjoittaa nyt kirjaa Vedenjakajalla tekoälyn aiheuttamasta työn murroksesta.
Jukka-Pekka Salmenkaita, Managing Director, Gridle | Elisa Industriq. Before that VP, AI and special projects, at Elisa. Has developed Gridlen, an AI based tool for optimizing energy storage assets.
The panel discussion moderated by Peter Ylén will in addition to the abovementioned include Mikko Heikkilä, Beckhoff, Tommi Eklund, Gofore, Joonas Isoketo, Siemens ja Mika Karaila, Valmet.
Revised Programme Format
This year, Automation Days will not include parallel sessions. The majority of the presentations will be presented using a poster and a pitch presentation. As a general rule, industrial papers will be presented as oral presentations, while scientific papers will be presented as posters. The best poster will be awarded a prize.
The seminar is a great networking platform between the education, research and business sectors.
Writing Instructions

Industrial papers and short papers which can be written in Finnish, Swedish or English and which are accepted on the basis of an extended abstract. Interesting case reports are also welcome!

Scientific articles in English, accepted for submission on the basis of an extended abstract. The authors will later submit an article to a special issue of Open Engineering and an extended abstract will be published as part of a conference publication. The submission and evaluation of a journal article will be carried out in accordance with the journal’s policies.

Keynote presentations are in English

The other presentations will be fully in English, some in mixed languages and some in Finnish. Most of the presentation will be posters, that will be in English.

Publication
- Industry papers and posters will be published online at automaatioseura.fi/julkaisut
- Peer reviewed journal papers will be published in special issues of the Open Engineering journal.
