IEEE Finland and the Finnish Society of Automation (FSA) organize an in-person side event in conjunction with ISGT 2021 Europe. This is a side-event in the sense that one of the speakers, Liana Ault, is a keynote speaker of ISGT. The other two speakers are recruited from the networks of IEEE Finland and FSA. The event features 3 industrial speakers addressing developments in smart grid related to 5G, electric mining and smart city. The talks are aimed at a broad audience interested in smart grids. The scope of each talk is multi-disciplinary, and the purpose of the event is to stimulate discussion across different fields of IEEE as well as automation. Much time is reserved after each talk for informal discussion with the speakers and other participants.
The cost of the event is covered by IEEE Finland and FSA. The event, including a coffee break, is free of charge, and it is open exclusively to members of IEEE or FSA. The event is in-person, except for Liana Ault, who joins over Zoom. We have reserved the conference room Palaver, which has a capacity of 80 persons. As a COVID precaution, the event is limited to 40 participants. Places are filled in the order of registration. Anyone registering to the event is required to be ready to wear a mask, in case a mask recommendation is in force at the venue on Oct 19.
